A work in progress show from the students of MA Fashion Futures at London College of Fashion. As humans we operate primarily at intimate scales, looking for connection both to ourselves and to others around us. Yet fashion, a supposed marker of our relationships to one another and the world, outwardly celebrates intimacy, personal passion and individuality but inwardly practices homogeneity, standardisation and mass scalability. The students of Fashion Futures have been researching and exploring both existing and imagined scenarios and creating speculative prototypes that present the possibility of fashion as a force for social cohesion and ecological awareness; creating concepts, methods and objects that change the way we look at and experience the world.
