On a warm and sunny Sunday, Small Works Hackney celebrated the Global Sharing Day by hosting a Big Lunch with the community of Regent Estate. The legendary Caribbean food of local chef Rosa and the inviting sandwiches brought by other residents nourished informal chats as well as passionate discussions about visions of and for Regent Estate.

CLEAR VILLAGE, Community Releaf and The Otesha Project UK engaged people in sharing their ideas, priorities and concerns for their public space. All participants enjoyed having lunch, chatting, sitting… and dancing in the sun to tunes played by local music man, Charles! They felt the Big Lunch was a success and suggested organising similar events in the future. Proposal accepted!
In the meantime, we will keep on collating residents’ ideas: this event kicks-off a series of workshops exploring visions for the public spaces on Regents Estate and co-designing their future improvements.
