We are happy to announce that our Small Works space in Victoria has reopened. Our members are delighted with the news as it means they will be able to resume their valuable activities, and we will be able to kick start the give-back work to the community. We are also looking forward to welcoming two new start ups who are eager to join us as members.
Our members have expressed how devastatingly the pandemic has affected their organisations. One member for example lost almost 40% of its clientele on account of not having a base to work from. Our members rely heavily on face-to-face workshops to carry out their activities. Some tried to adapt by shifting to online channels; however they quickly realised that this was not sustainable and that face-to-face workshops were critical for their survival. They are now strategizing how best to work in a post-COVID working environment, where social distancing will continue to be important.
We will ensure that all our members carry out up-to-date risk assessments and adhere to social distancing measures in the office at all times. We will also do our best to re-energise the place, secure new funding, recruit new members, and work with our existing members to overcome the damage caused by the pandemic.
