Coming early in 2018, we’re connecting with young people on Priory Green Estate to motivate, inspire, and empower them to create the kind of change in their neighbourhood that they want to see!
We’ve been commissioned as part of Islington Council’s Ambitious Communities tender alongside All Change Arts, Impact Hub Islington, and Global Generation. For Small Works Big Ideas we’re connecting our passionate and talented Small Works members with young people near Priory Green Estate and together we’ll help bring some big ideas to life. Small Works Big Ideas is an opportunity to motivate people under 24 to tackle the issues in their community that are important to them. These burgeoning young social entrepreneurs will be the force behind the type of social change that they want to see in their community.
At Clear Village, we’ve always believed that every community is brimming with potential and that it’s often just a matter of bringing it all together: spaces, ideas and people. Small Works, one of our most successful projects, has grown into more than a co-working space; Small Works brings together social enterprise and community. Now we’re linking some of the most creative, clever, and inspirational social entrepreneurs in London to the young people of Priory Green Estate in Islington.
Through a series of interactive workshops lead by experts and mentors, participants will learn leadership, community organising and project design skills. They’ll learn to work through their idea, take ownership, understand the challenges, think of solutions, and learn first hand what it takes to make change happen. Their efforts will culminate to a professional project pitch and website, and in the end a profound taste of real world experience.
At Clear Village we co-create solutions together with communities and ignite resilience from within. Small Works Big Ideas aims to do this with a whole new generation of social change-makers! We’re looking forward to updating you throughout 2018 on the projects coming out of this new community venture!
